"Enchant the Wind (Algiers / Rabe Lawo"

"Enchant the Wind (Algiers / Rabe Lawo)" connects a Middle Eastern–inspired melody by jazz composer Austin Peralta (“Algiers”) to “Rabe Lawo,” a Kurdish folk song calling for a return to the homeland. In an original arrangement, Gazzolo weaves the two together, introducing a counter-melody that evokes longing and gently invites the listener home by enchanting the wind.
This track features Pat Leary on piano, Eric Novak on sax, Deo Bradford on drums, Jeff Wheaton on bass, and yours truly on vocals.
Recorded at Midnight Tea in Chicago, IL.
Mixed + Mastered by Zach Lyda.

"Porcelain Doll"
The melody and lyrics for this piece came to Livia over five years ago. While studying at Berklee College of Music in Valencia, Spain, she met Anderson Jno Baptiste who brought it to life with haunting harmonies on piano. "Porcelain Doll" references jazz and childhood classics like Duke Ellington’s “Satin Doll” and “Truly Scrumptious” from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Livia skillfully illustrates the importance of protecting one’s sense of self while overcoming obligation and objectification.
Album cover designed by Livia Gazzolo and Reynaldo Certain features a still from the upcoming music video shot by Mollie Ryan at The Vickers Theatre in Three Oaks, MI.
